Principal's Welcome

Fall is in the air with all our fall sports underway.  We had a great fall sports rally on August 29th with cheer, dance, and student leadership executing flawless performances.  Our students are simply the best when it comes to showing their school spirit.  Come out and support one of the many sports occurring during the fall – soccer, waterpolo, volleyball, tennis, cross country and football.  Games and matches can be found on our school activities calendar

A few things to keep in mind as we settle into the new school year to support student learning:  Intervention period occurs daily Tuesday through Friday.  Make sure your student is using this time productively.  Ask your student how often they are going to the cafeteria for general study hall or to class for teacher assistance.  After school homework time is available in the library until 3:45 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Tutors will begin offering assistance very soon.  Progress grades are coming up September 12th
so be attentive to your student’s standing in classes.  Taking initiative well-ahead of quarter grades in October is always your best course of action.

Parent support is in abundance at Woodcreek High School.  Our booster organization and School Site Council are gearing up for another productive year, supporting students in and out of the classroom.  Be sure to connect with one of our 23 sub-booster groups and or our SSC.  Speaking of parents and boosters, I’d like to thank key parents from last year’s Sober Grad Night committee - Jen Pointer, Mary Wurster, Tracey Holtz-Liebler, Beth Mau, Joni Scott, Andi Walsh, Heidi Rocha, Laura Corbett, Kari Taggard and Diane Turner.  It takes a whole community to insure our students are provided a safe and secure graduation celebration so thank you to all who contributed to the class of 2014’s event.  If you’d like to be part of this year’s SGN committee contact Christine France at
